H-O-S is a great neighborhood watering hole with cheap drinks and excellent bar food! I'll admit that they have a reputation for having a crowd that's a bit skectchy on Friday and Saturday night but what can I say, the drinks are cheap, last call goes until 2AM and it's Hazel Park! Any other time you have nothing to worry about if your the nervous type. The food is top notch for a bar and I've ALWAYS had outstanding, friendly service here.

Another great burger! Love stopping here for a quick lunch or on the way home, to watch a game. Always great service, food, and drinks of course. They have live music and an outdoor patio too!

I came in for lunch not sure what to expect. I ordered the mini tacos for an appetizer, and the Angus melt for my meal. When I got the mini tacos, I was not impressed...but then I tried it and it was so good! I devoured them! They were a little too hot and I burnt my tongue a bit. The burger was pretty good but it doesn't have a sauce and it needed some so I got a side of mayo. Service was great. I'll definitely be back.

Came here around 7 on a Monday with a groupon. Let's set the stage here first: this is Hazel Park, MI; There is nothing special about this part of town, so if you're expecting ANYTHING impressive - be it a bar, a store, or a place to live - then you simply didn't do your homework. Shame on you. With respect to the bar itself, it's a surprisingly clean dive bar. The waitress was really nice and much cuter than you'd expect at this type of place. Against my better judgment, I ordered a chicken sandwich ( the Kingston) that was, shockingly, tender and juicy as opposed to rubbery and tough. My girlfriend had fish and chips which were decent. The drinks were cheap, although they were still on happy hour time, and service was solid. For what was expected, this place was great. My only real complaint was the music - exclusively country. I'm going to blame that on the time (Monday evening) and the hickish yet quiet blokes sitting one table over who may or may not have commandeered the jukebox.

Best bar around. Great staff, always have a good time when I go. They have a different event almost every night that keeps it interesting. Two thumbs up.

This place is everything I've ever wanted in a neighborhood bar: great music (FUNK!!!), cheap food and drinks that don't suck, good service, and Detroit Red Wings. $4.50 for a big cheeseburger with homemade chips. $2.50 Bud Light bottles. Had to edit to add that the shots are HUGE!

Went there on a Tuesday with a Groupon. Their food is pretty darn amazing for "bar food" The bartender poured a nice jack and coke for my partner and I Pool table, only $1 per game... got to read the green :-) nice and dark killer patio I would have given it 4 stars, but there were some regulars who were very loud considering there wasn't anyone else in the bar... and hearing the word "TITTIES" repeated over and over again lost the mojo.

This is an HP lifer Local Yokel... On any given Thursday, for me, it can be like a high school reunion... this can be good or bad..but it's strangely comforting. They have a pool table and dance floor, a small stage for DJs and bands.. They have karaoke during the week but I can't remember what day.. and usually on weekends they alternate bands and DJ. They have a sign on the street that they keep nicely updated so you know what's going on that week. The thing I love about Shammies is that there is another outside area, privacy-fenced in, that you can smoke if you want, or get away from the band. They usually have either dance music being piped in through the speakers, or another DJ outside. They have these awesome huge heaters too, so even in the winter you'll be pretty warm out there. There is another bar out there too, so I guess you could say it's 2 bars in 1. Drinks are reasonable and the crowd is pretty decent. If you're in the area, it's the greatest of the bars in HP, and there are quite a few for such a small city! LOL Come up on a Thursday, and you just might see me there! :) /Patio party!!!

Food is heavenly.. No need for a box. The tap's are always up to date and the staff is by far the most clutch around.. The cook has his own secret spice that is the perfect mixture of sweet and heat. I completely recommend the experience!

Always the best! My blondie behind the bar is H. O. T. And super nice. Good food too. Try the corned beef they make it fresh everyday and it is super juicy.

Shams is a great neighborhood joint offering live music and a spacious outdoor seating area (covered and heated in the Winter). It is a great place for large groups to gather and have a great time. This place offers something for everyone and the crowd reflects its inclusive diversity. Enjoy!

It's a little bit of everything... Sports bar when sports are on - AND they have the volume on of the game. When the games are over - they'll have live music most weekend nights, or DJs on the other nights. If you go during the day they have good prices on bar food (good burgers) and great booze selection. Just need more Michigan beers!!

I went here with a friend last Saturday to see a band, I think they were called Longneck Stranglers or something. The band was O.K. I wasn't really impressed w/ anything about this place...there was just a bunch of meat head guys and desperate girls in too tight dresses and tube tops. Typical bar scene: smoky, loud, crowded, annoying people. I guess if I were a little younger and a little less jaded it would have been a better time. I guess the best part about it was the live music, and they had this punching bag thing that looked like it would be fun to take your frustrations out on!
